In Memory of Art Nusbaum

Art Nusbaum encouraged me to think out of the box. He was 11 years old during the Great Depression. The experience of watching men beg for food left a terrifying impression. He said, "My mother had a restaurant after my dad died. She would be outside on the porch sweeping, when somebody wandered up. Boys would come up to the doorstep of the house with their hat in hand and ask, "Can I work for food? I haven't eaten in days." My mother would hand them the broom and have them sweep. She would feed them and give them a few apples. I will never forget those times.

During World War II, Art led troops in Europe. His helmet had a large dent from where a bullet just missed killing him. I once asked if he missed his girlfriend, while fighting in the war, and he looked at me with shocking surprise as if I hadn't a clue, "My dear boy, I was worried about staying alive."

Art encouraged me to come to New York. We met at an investment seminar at the Mark Hopkins Hotel across the street from the Fairmont in San Francisco. I was dealing with Russian stocks after lecturing in Prague at the Academy of Economics. For four years, Art pushed the envelope, "Go to New York. Learn business. Challenge yourself. Take risks." He died after I left and I will never forgive myself for not being there, but I was busy taking on three clients a day, and he insisted, "Stay and study. Forget about me. I've lived my life, I have my wife to take care of me. She knows what I am thinking before I even ask. Just succeed, my boy. You want to make me proud, succeed."

Success is in Harlem. Let me prove it to you. Take on the challenge. Trump predicted Harlem as being the next great real-estate buy in New York.

About the Author

Thomas Chi

Currently I am working with a great magazine after completing an online catalog for a costume company in New York. I specialize in  promoting retail sites and services. One online costume catalog I created generated $400,000 last October with no money put into advertising. Not a nickle. I specialize in driving traffic to the web, so much so, that film makers have decided to use my methods in a documentary about marketing on Craigslist.org. Prepare yourself for an assortment of articles I am writing on how to make money online.

For the past 10 years I have been involved in creating and maintaining web sites for a variety of companies and organization. I have designed over 30 web sites and also maintained a number of corporate sites. I have written six of those corporate web sites from inception to completion. The web sites have covered a wide range of users including military networks, medical portals, interactive educational web sites and nanotechnology/atomic force microscopy.

Some of the corporate web sites I managed have had as many as 6000 pages with a large room full of servers demanding constant backups.

Enclosed is a portion of my resume below. Sincerely, Thomas Chi
